Bad Decision Tuesday: Special Christmas Edition!
Happy Christmas, Internet! I hope you all have a wonderful day, filled with much merriment, many mince pies, lots and lots of presents, a whole bunch of hilarious family jokes, as much champagne as you can comfortably drink, and---most important of all---NO LEGWARMERS WHATSOEVER.
I also hope that at some point during the day you decide to dress up as all the components of a typical English Christmas dinner. And if, like me, you take on the role of the Brussels sprout, be sure to wear your very attractive green swimming cap, alright? And definitely leave on your enormous glasses.

(Clockwise from top: Beth as the chef, Laura as the peas, Rowan as the cranberry sauce, Henrietta as the turkey, Stephanie as the potato, Jo as the stuffing, Sally as the carrot, and me as the Brussels sprout. Parents, be warned: this is what happens when you send your bored pre-teen daughters to boarding school in the middle of nowhere.)

I always wanted to go to boarding school, and seeing that picture just makes me want to go THAT MUCH MORE. Such pure, adorable nerdiness! You guys were too cute.

Very convincing. You're lucky no one was eaten in the making of that photo.

I wear legwarmers regularly. Hidden under pants for the most part to keep warm....but if I am dancing around my house, in full Jane Fonda gear.
Dec 26, 2008
Never get legwarmers. Why not just knee socks? I hate having part of my legs (ankles) warm and the rest cold.
Merry Christmas!
Dec 26, 2008
Um. That should read 'never GOT legwarmers'. As in, perhaps this is an obviously good thing to the rest of the world, but not to me... that was not a command. What you wear on your ankles is your business. Even if it makes me feel cold just to look at you.
Also, happy New Year!

But you're such a happy looking Brussel Sprout!
Unlike Cranberry Sauce, who KNOWS this photo will one day end up on the internet! :)
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Safe travels back to the US!
