It's been about six months since I've done a Bad Decision Tuesday---please, if you haven't seen Sean's amazing high school hair, I implore you to go break a rib laughing at it---so I thought I'd kick things off again with a real humdinger.
Well looky here, a Bad Decision Tuesday! I haven't written one of these since February, which was pretty much almost a whole year ago. We all remember Bad Decision Tuesday, right? My beret was a bad decision, and so were my overplucked eyebrows.
My birthday was terrific. My birthday was tremendous. My birthday was legen--

--dary (see, I told you we'd been on a bit of a How I Met Your Mother kick lately.) Thank you all for your lovely birthday wishes, which I imagined you reciting personally and individually to me in dulcet tones while a harp played poetically in the background (hey, much better than scrolling through them on my iPhone.)
I just wrote half an entry about how wedding planning is haaaaaaaaaard, no-one ever told me it would be haaaaaaaaard, why is it so haaaaaaaard, but then it made me want to kick myself in the teeth and punch myself in the clavicle and karate chop myself in the pancreas, and so I deleted it instead. And then I thought "well, what am I going to post about now?" And then I remembered.
Internet, I am going to show you a picture and you are not going to know what to make of it. I do not know what to make of it. I have absolutely no recollection of the sequence of events leading up to this picture, and I believe that the first time I ever even saw it, in fact, was last year when I unearthed it from my parents' massive photo collection. I'm thinking it was taken sometime in late 1995. Presumably at a point in my life when I was very, very, very exhausted.
Happy Christmas, Internet! I hope you all have a wonderful day, filled with much merriment, many mince pies, lots and lots of presents, a whole bunch of hilarious family jokes, as much champagne as you can comfortably drink, and---most important of all---NO LEGWARMERS WHATSOEVER.
Okay, so this one isn't so much a poor clothing choice as it a poor judgment call, but I figure bad decisions are bad decisions, so what the hell. I came across a massive bundle of old photographs the other day and was so excited at all the horrors within---sartorial and otherwise---that I now believe I have enough evidence to keep Bad Decision Tuesday going for.....well, possibly forever.
No, you're right, you're right, you haven't gone crazy: it is Wednesday, not Tuesday, but I realized I hadn't done a Bad Decision Tuesday in a while---what with, you know, going on vacation and getting engaged and all---and yet Bad Decision Wednesday just didn't have quite the same ring to it.
I like to keep it fresh around here for Bad Decision Tuesdays: you just never know what decade you're going to end up in! Last week, for instance, we hovered somewhere around 1987 or 1988 while laughing at my beret; the week before that, we landed in 1993 to gawp at my too-short dress.
