San Pellegrino

Oh man, am I obsessed with San Pellegrino right now. I don't know why, but having sparkling water in the house just seems so fancy. For the longest time I'd just been buying the Trader Joe's store brand fizzy water at 89 cents a bottle, but then the other day we were in Costco and I picked up a 12-pack of San Pellegrino for $12.99 because when you think about it, it's almost the same price, and now every time I open my refrigerator, I think well, heavens to Betsy, I am living large. I am also enjoying that the color of the bottle totally goes with my kitchen.

I always feel exactly the same when I drink San Pellegrino- there's just something about that pretty bottle and the minerally flavor.

I feel EXACTLY the same way. One of the ultimate indulgences I had at my wedding (I still feel this way after 5 years) was to have BUCKETS of San Pellegrino. We drank it afterward for weeks!
PS - the color is pretty awesome too!

My husband is British as well, and we have the requisite supply of sparkling water in the house. Any time I come home with a brand other than TJ's he gets as excited as you are about your Pellegrino and asks when the party is :)

ME TOO. I never, ever thought I'd like sparkle water (I used to spit it out when I ordered it by accident while living abroad), but ever since I've had my tummy trubs this summer, I drink it all the time and, wait for it, actually LIKE IT.

I thought I was the only one who felt fancy drinking SP. It reminds me of when I lived in France and waiters would ask.."Wiz gas or wizout" when I ordered water. Divine!

And here I thought I was the only person that liked drinking sparkling water! I get such inquisitive looks whenever I order it. I can feel people's eyes boring into me, thinking, "well, look who's wearing fancy pants!"

Seriously? They could sell me swamp water if it came in a pretty bottle.

Sparkling water always reminds me of my Grandmother. She always drank Perrier and I just thought that was the fanciest thing when I was a little girl.

I can relate to how you feel, although sparkling water never appealed to me. I always thought I was real fancy if I ordered or bought Evian in a glass bottle. Which is not the usual case over here where most of the bottles come in plastic!
I really enjoy reading your blog! Happy belated congratulations to your wedding and your first 6 weeks of marriage!

I love love love S. Pellegrino! It's one of my favorite things ever. I don't always have it stocked either (usually slum it with slightly cheaper Gerolsteiner or some such), so when I do, what a treat!

As for me, after I drank mineral water in the mountains (not a bottled one but real mineral water from a brook)I am not satisfied from the quality of water. It seems to me it is artificial and not so useful as it is said.
