This is my new kitchen table and chairs, the purchase of which you may remember me fretting over some weeks back. Wow, if I could rewind my life a little and tell myself to grow a pair and stop fretting over the stupidest things like which kitchen table I want, then that would probably be my best! thing! ever!, but I can't, so I won't, and so here's a picture of my new kitchen table and chairs instead.

The table is this one from CB2 and I bought it with my Christmas Money To Buy a New Kitchen Table With. I couldn't decide on what sort of chairs I wanted and so my plan was to just hang out and wait til something grabbed me and possibly just eat all my meals standing up, and then whaddya know, the day after I'd brought the kitchen table home, I found a pair of Bertoia chairs for sale on Craigslist and so I emailed a very nice man in Potrero Hill and then went to pick them up that evening.

Yeah, we're still missing two chairs---the table seats four, and I'm looking forward to one day hosting my very first (small) dinner party where people don't have to eat on their laps---but I figure we can take our time on those and wait for another little divine sprinkling of Fate to fall into our laps. Or until we say screw it and just go and buy these, whichever comes first.

Can I have one of the pretty centerpiece cupcakes, or are those just for show??

They're lemons! My mum brought them back from Napa. My fruit bowl was full so I put them in my cake stand!

LOVE the cake stand + lemon combo. and in terms of "fretting over the stupidest things" - hello - welcome to my life. yesterday it took me a half hour to select a FONT for personalized notecards. b/c clearly FONTS and COLORS of stationary are life altering decisions. i am also renowned round the world for my inability to choose from a menu - friends and family dread dining with me b/c they know i will take TEN. YEARS. TO. PICK. i have taken to perusing menus ahead of time. (it doesn't help)

Lately all I do is look at the CB2 catalog. It started with a dresser I wanted. Now there is also a coffee table I want AND a bed. Help!

Holly
It all looks lovely together and I love the lemons in the cake stand. Are you going to try to find 2 of the same chairs or go with 2 different chairs to complete your kitchen ensemble?

Turquoise cushions in those chairs would look cool, IMO, not that you asked. I just know from lurking how much you like the color and was compelled to come OUT of lurkdom just to say so. :)

Wow. That looks really really great. I'm always so impressed when people can find pieces in very different places and put them together.

Don't ya just love how they fit your tush? And for something that looks so uncomfortable, they sure aren't. We have 2 Bertoia Diamond chairs that were my in-laws (they were the kid's time out chairs) and my husband stole them when we bought our first house. We still have them. They never go out of style. And BBB has cushions to fit them.

I have an identical table to this in my dining room! The chairs look amazing with it - my chairs are quite rubbish really, but they get grubby kid fingerprints all over them, so I don't mind holding out for good chairs for a while. Also love the cake stand!

These are so lovely! We have an estate dining set which was left to me by my grandmother so these wouldn't work for our dining room - but they would work in any other room...hmmmm!
