Best Thing Ever: Eclipse Breeze Exotic Mint Gum

gum.jpg

Look, I never said my Best Things Ever were going to be interesting and fancy, alright? But I was in the checkout line at Target yesterday---trying to cheer myself up after dropping my mother off at the airport by buying that new mascara that claims it makes your lashes grow (I'll keep you posted on that one)---when I spotted a new flavor of gum.

Now, for a person who doesn't actually chew very much gum, I sure do like spotting new flavors, and the fact that this one was called Exotic Mint---I mean, exotic mint? Really?---didn't even put me off, because the other thing it said on the packet was "with cardamom" and boy, do I love me some cardamom. Do you ever chew cardamom seeds right out of the spice jar, for example? No, just me then? Okay, just me.

Anyway, in case you are as into the Scintillating World Of New Gum Flavors as I am, early reports indicate that this is some darn good gum, and by "early reports," I mean the piece I chewed as we were heading out of the Target parking lot. Also, I just spun around and around really fast on my desk chair a minute ago---god knows why; Sean is out of town right now and it seemed like a good idea---and afterwards I felt super nauseous, and then I chewed a piece of this gum and now I feel fine. Ringing endorsement right there.

(PS: Don't do that. With your desk chair, I mean. It's fun for, like, a second and then you totally want to throw up.)

Even though I know the name of your blog and read it all the time, out of the corner of my eye I thought the banner said "Nothing But Boners." I would like you to consider changing your blog title. Maybe just for a day? Also I heart cardamoms. They're almost as good as regular moms.

I am not a huge gum chewer either, but my favorite lately is Orbit's Mint Mojito. I can't always find it though, so when I do, I grab a bunch!

I have issues with gum...BIG issues. Like, I'd rather throw up than chew gum. I'm a mint girl myself. But wouldn't you know it? My guy is a big gum chewer and he loves this gum. He buys it in the big maga packs.

Today is Burns Day in Scotland. Did you know that? I guess (wikipedia is my friend) it's to celebrate the birthday of Robert Burns, Scotland's renowned poet. Anyway, I thought of you when I saw it on my calendar this morning. Does this make me crazy stalkerish? Sorry about that!! But happy Burns Day!

I'm gonna second Diana's comment and say that the Mint Mojito is very good. It tastes like vacation! Well, er, it would if vacation had a taste, and that taste was tropical and minty.

CARDAMON?! IN GUM?!??! Let me tell you, I LOVE gum, all kinds of gum: sugar free, super bubble, mint, *mint mojita is also super fantastic*, fruit flavoured, sour, all of it.
As soon as I next go to the grocery (hopefully this afternoon), I am looking for this gum. I had cardamon ice cream a year ago and I swear to the little baby jesus, as soon as I have the ice cream maker attachment for my kitchen aide, Cardamon-Sweet Cream ice cream is going to be the very first thing I make.
...boy, I really hope TN is selling this gum, otherwise I'm in for a major meltdown.

I LOVE this gum. I'm a fan of the Eclipse brand in general but when they came out with this I was very happy to purchase it. I just wish they would put it in the little jars of 60 like their other flavors because I go through this pack of 12 way too fast.

When I saw the picture, I thought it was going to be about some 1960s fabric softner ad you'd seen...

NGS, you would probably warm yourself to the Scots by referring to it as Burns Night rather than Burns Day. It tends to be celebrated in the evening with a meal of haggis,'neeps and tatties,(turnips and potatoes), readings of Burns's poetry and an obscene amount of drinking and Scottish xenophobia

This is probably the best gum out there right now. I say right now, because, man, they really pump out new flavors quickly. I killed the pack in about two days.

I'm with ya Holly, love this come. They also have a Berry (maybe Wild Berry - what makes berries wild and crazy?!) Cardamon that I did not like nearly as much as the mint. This was a stocking stuffer in our house this year. I always buy 5 at a time, afraid they'll stop making it!

I am chewing that exact gum right now. I can verify its deliciousness.

I eat cardamom seeds out the spice jar too! I'm so glad I found someone else who does it, my mum thinks I'm a freak of nature.

I was at the store yesterday and saw this gum at the checkout stand and remembered your reference to it. I bought a pack and brought it to work with me today. I decided to have a piece and discovered that TWO pieces were already missing - popped out of the foil - one from each end! It's not that I was shorted the gum (although annoying), but gross! Someone (or two) got intimate with my pack of gum, touching all over it! Who would do that?? From now on, I'm not buying the pack on top of the pile. Good gum, though, thanks for the recommendation. :)

"with Cardamom to neutralize the toughest breath odors" Given the rave reviews I will probably try this, but somehow it feels like admitting you have terrible breath.

On a side note...this reminds me of how awkward it used to be in college or when I was working a cubicle job and someone would have rancid breath all the time. This meant that colleagues had to find creative ways of leaving gum on that person's desk or offering it to them daily to be able to cope.

That looks yummy- I'll have to try it! I love gum but never think to buy it for some reason!

My very FAVORITE gum was CHARCOAL GUM when I was a kid in the late 1940s. It was discontinued in the early 1950s (I think). I was able to buy an unopened pack of it on eBay a few years ago, but I"m afraid to chew a piece since it's over 60 years old. Eclipse Breeze Exotic Mint is my second favorite flavor and now it looks like it has been discontinued too. This always happens to me at Trader Joe's: As soon as I REALLY like a product, it becomes discontinued! If anyone knows where it can still be purchased, please let us know.
