Today is our first wedding anniversary! This time last year, I was sitting on the living room floor in my parents' house, making my bouquet. Right now I'm sitting in bed, drinking a mimosa and eating a pain au chocolat. It seems insane that a year has gone by, not least because I still haven't made a wedding album, had my dress cleaned (whoops!), framed that rather kind note from our close buddies the Obamas, or done anything with the postcards we had people fill out for our guest book. But I did make a video!
Also, neither of us has filed for divorce yet, so I'm calling our first 365 days a success.

You're in good company Holly. I've been married five years next week and I still haven't made a wedding album or gotten my dress cleaned. But we haven't filed for divorce yet either so I'm declaring the rest details and not worth worrying over.

You have inspired me to make a wedding video too! Um, two years isn't too long to wait, right? Also we are about to attend a couples' cooking class that we received as a wedding present. Points for getting there eventually, I guess.
Awesome video and I can't think of two people who deserve to be happy more than you guys. Your wedding was a dreamscape and you guys suit each other perfectly.

I've been married just over 2 years and I haven't had my dress cleaned or made my wedding album yet either! I also have nice notes from guests that we hung on a wedding tree that I should do something with but haven't.

Whoop! Congratulations! We're coming up to a year in October and though I was pretty quick off the ball with making an album, my dress also has yet to make a visit to the dry cleaners. Maybe that's for next year. No rush, right? Enjoy your anniversary!

I wore Vera Wang. I forgot to get it cleaned, year after year. Finally, when I moved, I THREW IT AWAY.
Yes, I'm the asshole who threw away a Vera Wang wedding dress. I AM THAT ASSHOLE.
Please, I implore you, get it cleaned, oh dear God. Put it to the top of your list. Otherwise, seven years from now you, like me, could find yourself beating yourself over the head for throwing it away in a fit of "It Seemed Like a Good Idea At The Time."

Happy anniversary!!! I would not be too worried about all the things you haven't done yet. Not that they aren't important, but somehow you have managed to get through a whole year of marriage without them, so I think you'll be ok. Also, you're not anywhere near as far behind as one person I know who has been married more than five years and hasn't changed her name with Social Security yet. (Just to be clear, I am NOT talking about myself here. Definitely not. I am much more on the ball and responsible and all-around amazing.)

I just did our wedding album sometime in the past year... and we are celebrating 7 years on October 22nd. On the plus side, those hard-cover book services are a lot more prevalent now than they were in 2003(and a lot more my style) - so it was worth the wait.

I finished our wedding album four days before our anniverary -- and only because I'd sworn, out loud, in front of multiple witnesses, that I wasn't going to put it off until, like, a YEAR after the wedding. Time, how it flies! Happy anniversary!

Loved the video, congrats on your first anniversary! We'll be celebrating ours in 13 days and I also haven't finished our album. Or ordered any prints. Or washed the tablecloth from underneath the cake.
I did clean my dress though! Bit of warning-put your dress on and wear it all darn day before you send it to be cleaned finally. Mine can be taken out of its box and handled, but if I put it on, it voids the warranty. Sad! Not that it would fit right now anyway....

My wedding dress hung in our living room on a hook for a planter for about eight months. My husband eventually snapped and took it to the cleaners where they promptly lost it. So. Maybe it's not a big deal?
