So I Married A Fabulist

"Did you know Charlie has a Facebook page?" Sean asked me last night on the couch, while we were setting the DVR to record Grey's Anatomy, even though the only person on that show who doesn't irritate me anymore is Dr. Owen Hunt, whom I also find unusually and curiously attractive, please tell me I'm not the only one.

"Charlie?" I said.  "Charlie who?"

"Charlie our cat," said Sean.

"Oh," I said.

"Yes," said Sean. "He has one million friends."

"He has one million friends?" I asked. "Then how come I haven't had a friend request from him? Why isn't he friends with us?"

"Uh, are you friends with your mom and dad on Facebook?" asked Sean.

"Fair point," I said.

"Anyway, " said Sean. "It's actually not even called Facebook when it's for cats. It's called Whiskerbook."

"Oh," I said. "Whiskerbook, I get it. That's very clever. Tell me, is Charlie on Twitter too?"

"He is," said Sean. "But he can't manage the full 140 characters. He only ever writes three characters, actually. He just writes m-e-w."

"M-e-w?" I said. "Like, mew? Like, he's miaowing?"

"Exactly. Every single one of his Twitter updates is just mew. Again and again and again."

"Wow," I said. "That would get pretty annoying. I'd probably unfollow Charlie on Twitter, actually, if I even followed him the first place."

"His Facebook status updates are always just mew too."

"Whiskerbook, you mean."

"Oh right, Whiskerbook. Exactly."

Owen is strangely attractive, mainly his attraction to Christina even though she's totally a hot mess.

I'm so disappointed by this season even though it's only two episodes in. I feel like I've dedicated so much time to it that I have to see the series through (although if it pulls an ER and is on forever, I'm off this crazy train) but ugh. I don't love it anymore.

My husband calls it part of the trainwreck trifecta of Grey's, Private Practice and Big Love. They're such a waste of brain cells but I just can't pull myself away.

Oct 02, 2009

Hunt, yes, attractive in that odd sort of way.

Oct 02, 2009

I think Hunt is ridiculously attractive too, although the writing is so terrible this season that it's hard to watch. I'm not sure why everyone has to repeat everything they say three of four times for "dramatic effect."

Oct 02, 2009

Ugh, I hate the repeating too! It's like they need to fill space with words. And all the dramatic pauses, I'm always OMGWTF we get it!

Oct 02, 2009

Don't blame Charlie for his lack of interesting tweets. It must be difficult to type, what with his lack of opposable thumbs.

Oct 02, 2009

I. love. Owen. You are so not alone.

I would follow Charlie. He sounds like a hoot.

I, in fact follow Charlie on fb. And he's much more clever than you give him credit for.

In fact, if you look at the times of day he posts, then transcribe the numbers into letters (A for 1, B for 2, etc.), he has just just posted that he's sorry for peeing on your bed while you've been at work, and he hopes that the apology will merit a bowl of Fancy Feast Tender Turkey Primavera. Also, that it's beginning to smell like a men's bathroom here, so he'd appreciate it if you come home soon.

I am with you 100% about Hunt.

Oct 02, 2009

you can NOT be serious about hunt. i cringe everytime his mug is on the tv, bleccccccccch!
no-faced george or the sliced arm baby is better to look at then that bug-eyed freak.
...just saying.

Try out Mercy. Mercy > Grey's Anatomy

Oct 02, 2009

beebop, i totally agree with you.
i'm sorry, but i find Hunt to be one of the most annoying out of a VERY annoying cast...and yet, i still tune in every week.

Oct 02, 2009

I bet my cat has a Whiskerbook page. I always find paw prints on the screen of my MacBook.

Oct 02, 2009

you're not the only one. he is crazy delicious. (the actor, not your cat. although I'm sure your cat is lovely)

Is Charlie actually Sockington, then?

(My cats would like you to tell Charlie to DM them with his Whiskerbook page.)

Oct 03, 2009

Hunt is only attractive to me when he's all Lucius'ed up on Rome because, then? mmmm...

Oct 03, 2009

I am glad I am not the only one thinking this season "why am I watching this poorly written show?"
Hunt seems like the only realistic character this season anyways. Oh by the way, after seeing your copious "advertising" for lipslicks, I went and tried to find them. I guess they don`t sell them in Canada or I am an unsuccessful hunter of covergirl product. However I am sticking with my wetslicks amazemint unless I find it. But thank you for the suggestion!

Oct 03, 2009

God damn it Holly, you totally just got me to Google "Whiskerbook." Fool me once...

Oct 04, 2009

De-lurking to agree with you on Owen Hunt. Its just so odd because the first time i saw him, i was all 'eww.." and then suddenly i found myself replaying his scenes in GA, and getting all tingly!

Oct 05, 2009

I'm with you on GA. After the first episode I asked my husband when the show became so sappy and syrupy. I much preferred Hunt (whose name I didn't remember) as tough Marine guy rather than needy therapy guy. And don't get me started on Alex. Who really says "you made me fall in love with you"?

Oct 05, 2009

HAHAHAHAHA i LOVE conversations like this. (liking cats to human things) im bias though, cuz i do it all the time! ha!

whiskerbook!!!!! cant wait to tell my bf 'bout that.

Oct 15, 2009

I, too, think Dr. Hunt is oddly attractive. Big red-headed men aren't normally my type, but there's something about him that gets to me.
